Cruise Whitsundays is committed to ‘giving back’ and supporting the community it works within. As such, a comprehensive and generous community sponsorship program is undertaken throughout the year to support activities which have both a community and commercial aspect.
This program allows small groups and events in our region to flourish, and helps create the social fabric of our community. We provide both cash and in-kind sponsorships which we approve following a formal application process.
Overall, our Community Support program is significant and provides real benefit to our local community by assisting so many community groups, charities and events to operate successfully for the benefit of so many different local residents.
Our cash sponsorship budget is prioritised specifically to support events that attract visitors/participants from outside of the region because these events have proven to bring real economic benefit to the whole town.
Our in-kind community support program offers donation of prize vouchers for our tours that can be used by community groups for fundraising raffles, auctions and events. We also provide extensive support to the Make a Wish and Starlight Children’s Foundation to help them grant wishes for sick children.

The health, safety and well-being of both our guests and staff remain our number one priority. As a result, Cruise Whitsundays has continued to closely monitor the developments and advice provided around COVID-19.
Following further advice received, together with several new restrictions initiated by various governments (including some states closing their borders and others seeking to restrict non-essential travel and activities), we have today announced the temporary suspension of all our services.
At this stage, all Cruise Whitsundays accommodation, tours and experiences will be suspended until 31 May 2020 and we will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves. Our resort connection services will continue to run at a limited frequency for authorised personnel until further notice.
We recognise that this will be incredibly disappointing news for guests with bookings between now and 31 May, but trust you will understand our decision.
All guests with bookings through to 31 May 2020 will be provided with a credit and our team will assist them to re-book their travel for a later date.
